Two Colorado Springs police officers infiltrate a local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in director Spike Lee’s BLACKKKLANSMAN.  John David Washington is the African-American cop developing close relationships over the phone with Klan members, and Adam Driver is the white, Jewish colleague who stands in for him at face-to-face meetings.

In recommendations, Mark Pfeiffer praises Ingmar Bergman’s WINTER LIGHT (NATTVARDSGÄSTERNA), a notable inspiration for Paul Schrader’s FIRST REFORMED.  Paul Markoff appreciates Alexander Payne’s NEBRASKA with Bruce Dern and Will Forte.
