SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY reveals the origins of the space smuggler in the original trilogy.  Director Ron Howard’s film features Alden Ehrenreich as the younger version of the character made famous by Harrison Ford, Donald Glover as the young Lando Calrissian, and Emilia Clarke as the love interest Han Solo gets separated from when trying to flee their home planet.

In recommendations, Mark Pfeiffer picks writer-director Michael Pearce’s psychological thriller BEAST, in which a young woman, who feels unforgiven for a violent act she committed as a youth, bonds with a man suspected of being a serial murderer.  Paul Markoff selects BEST OF ENEMIES, Robert Gordon and Morgan Neville’s documentary about the contentious 1968 TV debates between William F. Buckley and Gore Vidal.
